Environmentally conscious souls are choosing ‘greener’ ways to farewell their loved ones. From the ‘mushroom death suit’ to a simple backyard burial, here are some of the weird and wonderful lengths people will go to for an eco-funeral.

“I’d love to return as a tree,” says 34-year-old Helen Nickols. “To lie in nature, in a beautiful forest, and not in a cemetery. I’d love to lie in a forest and have kids running around me, not having to step carefully.”
