I still feel my father’s presence years after his death – Sydney Morning Herald – September 2018

I said goodbye to my dad in the departure lounge at Entebbe airport in Uganda. Passport in hand, I walked off to my gate. I didn’t weep. I didn’t even look back. I didn’t know it was the last goodbye.

Dad and I had enjoyed Christmas and New Year together. He was living and working on a Ugandan sugar estate and I had escaped a cold London winter to join him for a festive holiday.
