I’m having lunch with a friend when her husband texts. “Where are Bee’s swimmers?” My friend rolls her eyes, irritated that he doesn’t know where Bee’s swimmers are. “They’re where they always are!” she mutters as she texts back the precise location of the swimmers.
It’s a small thing – but it says so much about modern parenting. My friend and her partner both work full time, between them they juggle schools runs and lunch boxes. In many ways, it looks like they’re taking an equal share of the load.
