We all know that no two births are alike. Ask any group of women to describe their birth experience and you are guaranteed a huge variation of responses: for some it may have been the worst experience of their life, for others it was the best. Some will say it was tough and exhausting, others may use words like ‘emotional’ and ‘joyful’.

But one word that doesn’t come up much is ‘fun’.
